AHIMA Hosts Student Open House for Nearly 1,000 Health Information Students
CHICAGO – April 8, 2022 – The American Health Information Management Association hosted a successful Student Open House on Tuesday, April 5, with 992 future healthcare professionals participating. Sessions focused on topics ranging from health information trends to “rocking your LinkedIn profile.”
“It was energizing to see so many students interested in health information and asking how they can contribute to the healthcare ecosystem,” said Keith Olenik, MA, RHIA, CHP, AHIMA chief member relations and service officer. “I enjoyed seeing the diversity of participants, with students of all ages joining from around the country.”
Speakers also discussed careers in health information, AHIMA certifications, transitioning from student to professional, how to utilize an AHIMA student membership, and more.
